Lone Star Fools Scholarship
How it works:
1) Find a class you want to take.
2) Fill out the application.
3) The app will be reviewed and voted on by the board for approval.
4) Upon approval the board will determine the amount that will be awarded to the applicant. (criteria is posted at the bottom of this list).
4) You pay for and attend said class.
5) Provide receipt/proof of attendance to LSF.
6) LSF will reimburse you for the amount determined by the board at the time of application.
7) Be willing to pass on what you learn in some form or fashion to the chapter, your crew, dept, etc.
Criteria for determining scholarship amounts.
1) Attendance at LSF events
2) Level of involvement with the chapter
3) Cost of class in application
4) Level of willingness to pass on to the chapter/local fire service
(if there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from paying upfront please put that in the notes/comments sections of the application and this info will be reviewed by the board.)
